Babbie Mason

Genres: Christian & Gospel
Decades: 1990s 2000s

Jackson, Michigan, USA. Mason’s staunch Christian background saw her working for her father’s ministry as the church pianist and choir director. Though she founded her own ministry in 1984, Mason also became known as a successful writer of contemporary Christian songs. Her own performing career took off when she topped the CHR charts in 1990 with the modern day classic ‘Each One Reach One’. She has enjoyed further success with a string of chart-topping singles, and the acclaimed albums With All My Heart, A World Of Difference and 1996’s Heritage Of Faith. The following year’s Praise Celebration captured a typically fiery live performance. Mason signed to the Spring Hill Music Group for 1999’s No Better Place, which placed Mason’s forthright lyrics against an increasingly secular funky R&B backdrop.
