Brother and sister folk pop act comprising Angus Stone (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; vocals/guitar) and Julia Stone (b. Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; vocals/guitar). The siblings started playing and writing music as children, albeit independently from each other. This trend carried on into their late teens when they started to play at local open mic nights. It was only in early 2006 that they decided to pool their talents and begin writing together, drafting in friend Mitch Connelly to help out on drums and percussion. To complete the extended family set-up, Connelly's brother Oshy was brought in to build and service their website. With all the elements in place, the Stones set about recording their first EP, an organic process which saw them writing on their own before meeting up to develop melodies and song structures.
