This US band was one of several Christian alternative rock units to enjoy mainstream success at the start of the new millennium. Formed in 2002 by Stephen Christian (vocals), Joseph Milligan (guitar/vocals), Deon Rexroat (bass), Joey Bruce (guitar) and Nathan Young (drums), Anberlin made its debut the following year with the Tooth & Nail release Blueprints For The Black Market. The album enjoyed a strong commercial showing, with the singles ‘Change The World’ and ‘Readyfuels’ gaining extensive radio play on US rock stations.

Guitarist Nathan Strayer was brought in to replace Bruce for the follow-up, Never Take Friendship Personal.
