Biography
Formed in Baltimore, Maryland, this US pop punk unit was the brainchild of high school friends Alex Gaskarth (vocals/guitar) and Jack Barakat (guitar). With Zack Merrick (bass) and Rian Dawson (drums) completing the line-up at the end of 2003, the quartet began gigging at local clubs while still at school. The local independent label Emerald Moon Records released their recording debut, the EP The Three Words To Remember in Dealing With The End, in 2004. The Party Scene, the bands album debut, followed in summer 2005. Both collections betrayed the quartets youth (they were still completing their education at the time of release), with pop punk veterans Green Day and the Offspring an obvious influence, but there was enough melodic enterprise on show to attract the attention of the Californian punk label Hopeless Records.
