25 December 1982, Muscle Shoals, Alabama, USA. Singing from early childhood, Elliott made a demo tape that was heard by Lorrie Morgan who not only encouraged her but also invited her to sing We Both Walk on-stage with her when Elliott was still only nine years old. At the age of 11 Elliott appeared at Buddy Killens Stockyard. Singing often in Nashville, Tennessee, including appearing at the Grand Ole Opry, she also appeared at the White House in the nations capital. Elliott also toured Europe and appeared as opening act for artists such as Matraca Berg and Randy Scruggs. Elliotts raw singing voice is used to generate an urgent sexuality that is at odds with her youth and gentle appearance, a combination that record companies have often exploited successfully with others.
