Formed in 2001 by Joel OKeeffe (vocals/guitar), Ryan OKeeffe (drums), David Roads (guitar), and Justin Street (bass), this Australian band began making waves in North America in the middle of the decade with their energetic if dated brand of hard rock. Originally based in Warrnambool, Victoria, the band self-released Ready To Rock in 2004. The healthy reception afforded the mini-album prompted the quartet to relocate to Melbourne where they signed a contract with Capitol Records. Despite a series of well-received singles, Airbourne continued to be overlooked by Australian radio. Following the release of Runnin Wild, in summer 2007, the band signed a new contract with Roadrunner Records and relocated to the USA. Building on the successful re-release of Runnin Wild through Roadrunner, they completed a headlining tour of North America.
