US post-hardcore band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2003 by Wil Francis (William Francis, 8 January 1982, Seattle, Washington, USA; vocals), Angel Ibarra (b. 30 April 1987, Los Angeles, California, USA; guitar), Jake Wambold (guitar), Nick Wiggins (bass), and Jake Davidson (drums). The quintet adopted a similar goth-punk image to the highly successful My Chemical Romance, and in 2004 released their debut, Our Gangs Dark Oath, through the independent label Dead Teenager Records. The album was notable for having been recorded while Ibarra and Davidson were still at school. A contract with Victory Records followed, with the 2005 release, Nightmare Anatomy, helping boost the band’s mainstream appeal. Their fanbase spread with the punky single ‘Die Romantic’ and in 2006 they received a Kerrang! award for Best International Newcomer.
