Biography
Formed in 1980 by Vinnie Stigma (Vincent Cappucchio; guitar), this long-serving US hardcore punk band went through a number of musicians before settling on an early line-up comprising Stigma, Roger Miret (b. Rogelio Miret Gonzalez, Cuba; vocals), Ray Barbieri (b. 27 November 1961, USA, d. 11 September 1997; drums) and Adam Moochie (bass). Agnostic Front were the epitome of New York hardcore bands of the mid-80s. Growing up onstage at CBGBs, like many of that scenes participants, as their career progressed they adopted elements that instead identified them more with the heavy metal and thrash scenes. Politically not the most circumspect of bands, even by hard rocks standards, their avowed right-wing stance and staunch nationalism served to set them apart from other punk and hardcore bands.
