The Acid Mothers Temple title is just the tip of the iceberg for a multitude of spin-off bands spearheaded by Japanese guitarist and psychedelic explorer Kawabata Makoto.

A veteran of various Japanese bands including Ankoku Kakumei Kyodotai, Toho Sara and Mainliner, Makoto launched Acid Mothers Temple in 1995 as a means of taking his musical vision to the furthest extremes. Aided and abetted by an ever-growing cast list of similarly inclined musicians, most of whom had never had the chance to enter a recording studio before, Makoto has unleashed a vast discography of live and studio recordings that, more often than not, began as extended jam sessions. These have been released under various band titles, including Acid Mothers Temple And The Melting Paraiso U.F.O.
