Genres: Pop / Rock
Decades: 2000s

This US melodic rock quartet was formed in 1977 by ex-L.A. Jets duo Karen Lawrence (vocals) and John Desautels (drums). With the addition of Steve Schiff (guitar) and Bill Rhodes (bass), they signed to A&M Records and released a self-titled debut the following year. This was characterized by Lawrence’s powerful vocals and a style that incorporated elements of Heart, Aerosmith and Foreigner. Guitarist Steve Schiff was replaced by Rick Armand on Please Stand By, which lacked the rough edges of their debut, and saw them move towards mainstream AOR. Success eluded the band and Lawrence left in 1980. After a decade of less than successful projects, which have included collaborations with Cheap Trick, Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart, it was rumoured that Lawrence might re-form 1994. However, the only firm evidence of any such move was the guest appearance of Steve Schiff on her 1986 solo album.
