Alex Christensen, Hamburg, Germany. The German producer and DJ whose single, ‘Das Boot’, reached the UK Top 20 in 1992. A revision of a 10-year-old Klaus Doldinger film/television theme, this might have been unexpected had it not been for the fact that it had spent nearly three months on top of the German charts. In the UK it was originally released on Dave Dorrell’s Love label in January, before being remixed by Mickey Finn and licensed to the M&G label in August. The album that followed was full of techno stompers and commercial electronica. The second single, ‘Inside Your Dreams’, fleetingly reached the UK Top 50 in 1994.
