Biography
30 December 1959, Slough, Berkshire, England. A child actress who trained at the Italia Conti Stage School, Ullman made her debut in the Berlin production of Gigi before returning to London to appear in the stage productions of Elvis (with Shakin Stevens), Grease, The Rocky Horror Show. In 1981, she won the London Theatre Critics Award for her performance as Beverly in Four In A Million. She later starred in the BBC television comedy series A Kick Up The Eighties (with Rik Mayall) and Three Of A Kind (with Lenny Henry and David Copperfield). Ullman secured a contract with Stiff Records and released her debut album in 1983. This collection, which climbed to number 14 in the UK chart, comprised a set of cover versions from various eras of modern pop, spawning two Top 5 singles; Breakaway (Jackie DeShannon) and Move Over Darling (Doris Day), and a version of Kirsty MacColls They Dont Know which reached UK number 2...
