Biography

Terry is a US house production innovator and expert with a reputation second to none (in fact, some journalists from specialist magazines took to nicknaming him ‘God’ for easy reference). An established producer and DJ, he learned his trade playing early house and hip-hop at parties in New York. ‘Bongo (To The Batmobile)’, a major signpost in the development of acid house, and further singles like ‘Can You Party?’ and ‘A Day In The Life Of A Black Riot’ were credited to the Todd Terry Project alias. In addition to an album and singles on Champion Records (including the mighty ‘Put Your Hands Together’), he also cut records for Strictly Rhythm Records, Nervous Records and Freeze Records (SAX’s ‘This Will Be Mine’).
