Biography
Formed in Accrington, Lancashire, England in 1963, the Warriors initially comprised of Jon Anderson (John Roy Anderson, 25 October 1944, Accrington, Lancashire, England; vocals), Anthony Anderson (vocals), Michael Brereton (lead guitar), David Foster (bass) and Ian Wallace (drums). They became a popular attraction in the north of England, evolving from a Beatles -style pop group to R&B act. You Came Along, released by Decca Records in 1964, was a rather lightweight song which made no commercial impression. By this point Anthony Anderson had left the line-up altogether and Brian Chapman had replaced Brereton. Although no further records ensued, the Warriors remained active until 1967, largely by touring US bases in Germany. Jon Anderson then began a brief solo career under the name Hans Christian, before becoming a founder member of Yes.
