Biography
A female folk pop duo featuring singer-songwriter Jonatha Brooke (23 January 1964, Illinois, USA) and vocalist Jennifer Kimball. The two women first played together (as Jonatha And Jennifer) while studying at Amherst College in the early 80s. After pursuing independent careers outside music, the duo reunited on a permanent basis in 1989 to record a demo. A recording contract with Green Linnet Records followed, and their debut album (as the Story) was released in 1990. It was reissued the following year by the duos new label, Elektra Records. Brookes husband, keyboard player Alain Mallet, also played with the duo, and brought a distinctive South American influence to bear on 1993s The Angel In The House, including bossa nova rhythms and Latin percussion.
