Biography
Although Pussycat were a soft rock band from Limburg in Holland, three of their members, Theo Wetzels, Theo Coumans and John Theunissen, were previously in hard rockers Scum. They joined with husband and wife Loulou and Tonny Willé plus Tonnys two sisters Marianne Henson and Betty Dragstra. Loulou Willé was previously in Ricky Rendell And His Centurions, and later Sweet Reaction alongside Tonny. Sweet Reaction signed to EMI Records (Holland) and producer Eddy Hilberts changed their name to Pussycat. They recorded Mississippi, which became a surprise UK number 1 on Sonet Records in autumn 1976. The follow-up, Smile, reached the Top 30, after which the band failed to chart.
