Biography
A light UK folk trio formed in 1970, when Irene Hume (Irene Marshall, 5 August 1948, Gateshead, Tyne And Wear, England; vocals/percussion) began singing with her husband Brian Hume (b. 21 June 1947, Gateshead, Tyne And Wear, England; guitar/vocals), and Ian Vardy (b. 21 March 1947, Gateshead, Tyne And Wear, England; guitar/vocals). They began to write their own material and built a following on the folk circuit. How Long Is Forever? was recorded at Rockfield studios in Wales, and it was from this release that the cover of Neil Youngs After The Goldrush was taken. This single reached number 21 in the UK charts in January 1974 - and when re-issued eight years later got to number 28. Their first nationwide tour followed, with Michael Chapman. After The Goldrush also charted in the US peaking at number 22, and the group subsequently toured the USA. They then toured the UK supporting artists such as Ralph McTell and Joan Armatrading....
