Biography

Based in San Diego, California, this US post-punk band was formed in 1986 by John Reis (1969, Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA; guitar), Rick Fork aka Rick Froberg (b. January 1968, California, USA; vocals), Don Ankrom (bass), and Joey Piro (drums). The original quartet completed the three-track 7-inch single ‘Saturn Outhouse’ before Nick Frederick replaced Ankrom during sessions for the band’s sole album Eucalyptus, which was released in 1990 on the independent label Nemesis Records. The band broke up when Reis and Froberg chose to launch a new band, Drive Like Jehu, in which their brand of post-hardcore guitar rock was developed more fully.
