They may not have been the first alt-punk musicians to discover the funk, but the emergence of outfits such as Out Hud proved that the genre remained a viable force at the start of the twenty-first century. Originally formed in 1996 in Sacramento, California, USA (most of its members were previously a part of the obscure punk outfit the Yah-Mos), Out Hud comprises Nic Offer (bass), Tyler Pope (guitar), Molly Schnick (cello/keyboards) and Phyllis Forbes (drums/bass), joined by soundman/mixer Justin Vandervolgen. Most of the bands members also do double duty in the curiously titled outfit !!!
