Biography

US pop rock band formed in 2000 in Hollywood, California, USA by Jason Pebworth (vocals/piano) and George Astasio (guitar), with later additions including Kevin Roentgen (guitar), Johnny Lonely (bass) and Chris Cano (drums). Befitting their location in LA, the quintet chose their name in honour of film legend Orson Welles. Despite Pebworth’s resumé including stints in Broadway musicals Phantom Of The Opera and Jesus Christ Superstar, the style favoured by his new band was a razor sharp amalgam of power pop, rock and soul. The quintet’s impressive dress sense added a visual impact to their live shows, and they quickly built up a substantial following on the local circuit. Their standing in Los Angeles failed to attract much record company attention, however, and in 2005 the band temporarily relocated to England to chance their arm in Europe.
