Biography
This Los Angeles, USA-based, melodic power-metal outfit formed in 1984. Comprising J.D. Kimball (vocals), Kenny Powell (guitar, ex-Sacred Blade), Jody Henry (bass) and Steve Wittig (drums), they debuted with a track on the Metal Massacre V compilation. This led to a contract with Metal Blade and the release of Battle Cry the same year. This was a competent, if uninspired, collection of Iron Maiden -style rockers, which lacked distinction owing to Kimballs weak vocals. Three more albums followed a similar pattern, with 1987s mini-opus Nightmares being the most interesting (it featured a strong cover version of AC/DCs Whole Lotta Rosie). Coburn Pharr replaced Kimball in 1988 and helped the band to produce Escape From Nowhere, their finest recorded work.
