28 May 1968, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. In his mid-teens Plume bought a guitar and took an interest in rock ‘n’ roll. After relocating to Bonnyville, Alberta, he played in rock ‘n’ roll bands, touring the western seaboard of Canada. Meantime, he was developing his songwriting skills to very good effect. He continued to play through the 90s and into the early 00s, working out of Edmonton and Toronto, building a fanbase for his blues-inflected guitar playing. That said, a key factor in Plume’s success is that his band, comprising Dave Klym (guitar), Derek Mazurek (bass) and Ernie Basiliadis (drums), usually plays unadorned classic rock ‘n’ roll and the appeal of this music is indicated by a succession of nominations and awards that have come his way especially in the early 00s.
