Biography
1967, St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Although interested in singing, Brom was discouraged from working towards a career as an entertainer because of acute stage fright. Despite this, she sang occasionally with a band, Bad Habits, led by a boyfriend. Married to Bobby Brom, she began building a career singing occasional sets with St. Louis bands such as David Lee And The Houserockers. In the early 90s, when her husband joined the US Air Force, they moved to Austin, Texas. There she sang with Shaun Youngs rockabilly outfit High Noon, and later began her solo career as leader of a band, the Jet Tone Boys. In her backing group were musicians such as Young (drums), Kevin Smith (bass) and Todd Wulfmeyer (guitar). Brom made some began making her own-name records in the late 90s, mixing traditional country with rockabilly and displaying a notable vocal similarity to Patsy Cline.
