Biography
16 December 1945, Boston, Lincolnshire, England. This 70s singer-songwriter failed to achieve any great commercial success, despite recording with a number of highly respected musicians, including Richard Thompson and Simon Nicol. Between 1965 and 1978, Ellington made various appearances at concerts, folk clubs, and in cabaret, both in the UK and abroad. During that time he released five singles, none of which made any major impact. Marc Time followed more of a country direction, and for this Ellington was joined by steel guitarist and dobro player B.J. Cole. Ellington was employed in much session work and provided back-up on albums by Fairport Convention, Matthews Southern Comfort and Richard And Linda Thompson. Apart from being the Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Aberdeen, Scotland, Ellington now works in film video and record production, as well as composing music for television and film.
