USA. Few musicians can have been born closer to the heart of rock n roll, country and pop than Montgomery. His mother sang backup with Elvis Presley, his father, Bob Montgomery, worked with and wrote songs for Buddy Holly. Add to this the fact that he was raised in Nashville, Tennessee, and his decision to become a singer was almost inevitable. Even so, Montgomery did not remain rooted in the country music ambience of Nashville. Instead, during his developing years, he also lived and worked in major urban centres across the country, including New York City. He sings with a high, keening sound, and, as is apparent from both his vocal style and the nature of the songs he writes, many disparate elements have coalesced to become a part of this artists musical character. Montgomery made his own-name recording debut in 1993 but despite good reviews and moderate sales it did not significantly boost his slowly burgeoning career....
