Biography
27 July 1967, Wiscasset, Maine, USA. Formerly with the Blake Babies, Hatfield is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who became a favourite of the early 90s indie media through her on-off liaisons with the Lemonheads Evan Dando, her self-professed virginity, and her excessively vulnerable songs. Her first musical experience came when singing Police cover versions in a school band, then fronting the mildly diverting Blake Babies before her solo bow. She has been heard to denounce her debut, finding its revelations overtly embarrassing once handed over to probing journalists. By the time of her second collection, Hatfield had become more strident and self-assured, adding the services of Dean Fisher (bass) and Todd Philips (ex-Bullet LaVolta; drums), to become the Juliana Hatfield Three.
