Biography
Jacqueline McShee, 25 December 1943, Catford, South London, England. Best known for her presence in Pentangle throughout its many incarnations, McShee waited until 1995 to release her debut solo album, in tandem with Gerry Conway and Spencer Cozens. McShees early life was dominated by music, her mother singing for her own entertainment while her father was a devotee of Fats Waller. He encouraged her to take piano lessons but, owing to her well-documented shyness, which ensures she always sings seated to disguise her trembling knees, she declined. By her teenage years she had taken a Saturday job at the Woolworths chain store instead. Her life irrevocably changed in 1960 when she and her sister followed a crowd from Trafalgar Square to the Crypt venue at St. Martins in the Fields.
