3 November 1960, Liverpool, Merseyside, England. Former Icicle Works guitarist, singer and songwriter Ian McNabb never earned the commercial rewards he deserved first time round with his highly individual, underrated band. The Liverpool outfits back catalogue reputedly continues to sell better since their demise than it ever did while active, but more pertinent compensation for McNabb has arrived in a highly acclaimed solo career. Though he has steered closer to the mainstream since the Icicle Works dissolved, he remains essentially the same prolific and acute songwriting commentator that many critics adored in the previous decade.
McNabbs debut album, Truth And Beauty, was recorded on a small budget (allegedly via a loan secured by the artists own mortgage) in Oldham, Lancashire.
