Josephine Cottle, 5 April 1922, Bloomington, Texas, USA. A dynamic singer who came to fame mainly through covering the hits of others, Storm arrived in Hollywood in 1939 after winning a Gateway To Hollywood contest in her home state. She was soon working for the Universal and RKO studios, though she ultimately achieved popularity playing Margie Albright in My Little Margie (1952-54), a television series, credited as being the first of its kind to be screened five days a week. By 1955, she was recording for Randy Woods Dot Records, reaching the US Top 5 with her cover version of Smiley Lewis I Hear You Knocking, followed by Teen Age Prayer, Memories Are Made Of This (both 1955), Why Do Fools Fall In Love?, Ivory Tower (both 1956) and Dark Moon (1957).
