Biography
Alternative rock outfit originating from Fort Worth, Texas, USA. Brandin Lea (Dallas, Texas, USA; vocals/guitar) and Cory Kreig (b. Abilene, Texas, USA; guitar/keyboards) first met while they were classmates at Southwest High School in Fort Worth, and began playing together in various bands after graduating in 1995. An embryonic version of Flickerstick, featuring Brandins brother Fletcher Lea (b. Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; bass), Rex James Ewing (guitar) and Jeff Lowe (drums), struggled to gain a reputation outside of their home town. The addition of new drummer Dominic Weir in May 1998 helped the band break into the Dallas music scene, and they had soon developed a reputation as one of the areas best live acts, with a rudimentary but highly effective multimedia show. The quintets debut album was recorded and independently released in 2000, but their big breakthrough came about when they appeared on VH1s Bands On The Run reality music show....
