Biography
1972, USA. More Morillo started DJing at the age of 11, playing sets in his local New Jersey that matched ragga with techno (a precursor to the sound of Reel 2 Real). As a student at New Yorks Centre For The Media Arts, he started collecting studio equipment, and became a self-taught maestro. He graduated to recording his own material by sampling Jamaican toasters on to DAT. One night a man came forward from the crowd to enquire as to the source of a particular sampled voice. It transpired that the questioner, known as General, was the owner of said larynx. Together they went on to record The Funky Buddha and Move It for RCA Records. Influenced by old school Chicago house like Todd Terry and Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Morillo has gone on to build his own studio, Double Platinum, where Little Louie Vegas Hardrive EP and Barbara Tuckers Deep Deep Inside were recorded.
