Biography
Regarded as stalwarts of the ‘new Irish tradition’, Déanta comprises Mary Dillon (vocals, harp), Kate O’Brien (harp, vocals), Clodagh Warnock (bodhran, mandola), Rosie Mulholland (keyboards), Eoghan O’Brien (harp, guitar; ex-Upstairs In A Tent) and Deirdre Havilland (flute), though this was only the latest in a series of line-ups. Other musicians were regularly exchanged with near neighbours Oige, while the stated personnel were also limited in their activities by primary careers as dentists, pharmacists, computer analysts and music teachers. A debut cassette album was recorded in 1990 but was sold only at live gatherings, though it was later licensed by Green Linnet Records when the group toured the USA.
