Biography
11 August 1968, San Antonio, Texas, USA. This US multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter became a professional musician in early adolescence, joining Joe Elys band as a guitarist in 1981. Both on stage and in the studio, he accompanied Don Henley (notably on 1984s Building The Perfect Beast), and collaborated with Keith Richards and Ron Wood on the Easy Street soundtrack. Sextons penchant for blues and roots rock was largely buried away beneath layers of new wave-inspired synthesizers on his 1985 debut for MCA Records, Pictures For Pleasure. The album nevertheless generated the atmospheric US Top 20 hit single, Beats So Lonely. Moderate chart placings followed, with Sextons precocious talent struggling to be confirmed by a major hit.
