Biography
Successfully fusing thrash and black metal with satisfyingly old-school results, Swedens Bewitched (not to be confused with the metal band of the same name from Chile) was formed by Blackheim (Anders Nyström; guitar/vocals), Vargher (b. Marcus Norman; guitar/vocals), Wrathyr (b. Kristofer Olivius; bass) and Reaper (drums). The bands talent was in evidence on its 1996 debut, Diabolical Desecration, with many fans welcoming the quartets obvious debt to the long disappeared early-80s thrash-metal pioneers. Blackheim departed soon afterwards, leaving the remaining trio to complete the recording of 1997s Pentagram Prayer. Vargher assumed the role of main songwriter on this album and subsequent releases, proving a more than adequate replacement for Blackheim. Additional guitarist Hellfire was brought in to the line-up in the new millennium.
