Biography
White Plains, New York, USA. Former Anti-Pop Consortium adventurer Beans offers a unique vision of hip-hops future. Self-declared as the New Wave vandal (on the single Phreek The Beat), Beans is astute and outspoken enough to have declared hip-hop as an essentially conservative genre. He offers an avant garde reinterpretation of the genre that is deeply rooted in electro (and which, at times, is reminiscent of Brian Eno, the Fall and the Art Of Noise). His recordings meld contemporary hip-hop with the laptop experimentation of his labelmates on Warp Records. Beans had already released a solo recording (2000s 12-inch single Nude Paper, via Mo Wax Records) and begun work on his solo set, Tomorrow Right Now, before the dissolution of Anti-Pop Consortium.
