Formed in 2001 by Baylor University students Jenny Chisolm (vocals), Ryan Simmons (guitar, vocals, piano), Ryan Gregg (guitar, vocals) and Jay Henderson (drums), this Texas-based US Christian rock act was originally known as the Jenny Chisolm Band. The quartet recorded their independent debut Not What You Think in Nashville, Tennessee, during their Christmas break. Travis Lawrence (bass, vocals, harmonica) was then brought into the line-up, and with the marriage of Chisolm and Simmons the decision was taken to rename the band Addison Road. With all the members having recently graduated, the band relocated to Dallas where they parted company with Henderson and recruited new drummer Josh Anzaldua for the recording of the independent EP Breaking Beautifully.
