The Alley Cats Biography
This R&B vocal group from Los Angeles, California, USA, comprised Billy Storm (lead), Chester Pipkin, Ed Wallis, and Bryce Caulfield. A classic one-hit-wonder, the Alley Cats had just one chart record, Puddin N Tain (Ask Me Again, Ill Tell You The Same) (number 21 R&B, number 43 pop) in 1963, and nobody ever heard of them again. The record was produced by the legendary Phil Spector and was released on his Philles label, but apparently Spector was not interested in continuing the association, and he never again worked with the group. The unit first recorded on Keen in 1957, and recorded as the Untouchables for Madison in 1960, on both occasions without success.
