Richell Bonner, 1975, Rock Hall, St. Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies. Bonner comes from a musical family that includes his siblings, Spanner Banner, Pliers and Snatcher Dog. Spices debut release, Killing A Sound, was recorded with Dennis Star Hayes and introduced the singer to the reggae cognoscenti. The song attracted the attention of Clive Hunt, who enrolled the performer to record Shine. Grooving My Girl became Spices first major hit, and he also released Earth A Run Red, Land Of Jamaica and Living Aint Easy through his older siblings label, Bonner Productions Ltd. Keeping it in the family his sister Bridget was enrolled to co-ordinate a compilation of his hits to be promoted on the live circuit. It was at this time that the singer released the crossover song, All Night Long with Shaggy. Spice toured with Chaka Demus And Pliers, supported Rita Marley, and appeared at the 1998 Reggae Sunsplash Festival. In 1999, he performed at Everton Blenders notorious Birthday Bash, the White River Reggae Festival in the USA, and alongside Wyclef Jean at the Caribbean Music Expo. Spice began the millennium with an acclaimed appearance at Tony Rebels Rebel Salute showcase, which attracted the interest of the US-based Heartbeat Records. The label utilised Bridgets compilation alongside new productions from Everton Blender. To promote the release of the long awaited Universal, Spice supported Blender in a series of concerts throughout the year. While he appreciated international fame his dancehall credibility was enhanced with his version of Mr & Mrs Lay Lay and Judgement, in combination with Capleton.
