Point Of Grace Biography

Contemporary Christian act Point Of Grace is a quartet originally featuring vocalists Denise Jones, Heather Floyd, Shelley Phillips and Terry Jones. Originally formed in the Ouachita Baptist Church in Arkansas, they made an immediate impact after leaving their home town and signing to Word Records, receiving multiple awards including the 1994 Gospel Music Association New Artist Of The Year nomination. The most obvious facet of their music, beyond the expected eulogies to a higher power, came in their exhilarating, syncopated harmonies. This led to the group taking a further award as Group Of The Year at the 1996 GMA awards, while a string of 11 singles penetrated the Contemporary Christian charts. By the advent of their album, Life, Love & Other Mysteries, Point Of Grace could lay claim to being gospel music’s most popular female ensemble. This new release was accompanied by the publishing of a book of the same name (‘a Christian take on living in the 90s’), and a tour alongside popular gospel act, 4 HIM. Steady On was a notable crossover success, reaching number 24 on the Billboard 200 album chart in 1998. They maintain a strong cult following with the Christian community.
