This UK duo, comprising Peter Byrne (vocals) and Rob Fisher (5 November 1959, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, d. 25 August 1999, Surrey, England; keyboards), enjoyed considerable US success with a simple but effective version of Burt Bacharach and Hal David’s ‘Always Something There To Remind Me’. Released in 1983, it reached number 8 (the song’s highest American placing in its many versions), which was followed by another memorable hit in "Promises, Promises" (#11). Despite this success, the band broke up in 1984 after the comparatively disappointing performance of Fuel For The Fire. Fisher subsequently teamed up with Simon Climie to form the songwriting duo Climie Fisher, enjoying further chart success in the late 80s. Byrne and Fisher had begun working together again shortly before the latter’s tragic death in August 1999 as a result of complications arising from severe pancreatitis.
