Marley Marl Biography

Marlon Williams, 30 September 1962, Queens, New York, USA. Widely revered for his considerable production skills, notably for his cousin MC Shan, Big Daddy Kane, Masta Ace, Roxanne Shanté and Biz Markie, Marl’s work is inhabited by a spirit of accessible, old school gusto. He has been widely congratulated for his innovative sampling techniques, using the SP1200 on hip-hop landmarks like Eric B For President. He also acts as host on the weekly Rap Attack radio programme on the WBLS-FM station in New York.
