Danger Danger Biography
This melodic and atmospheric US hard rock band were formed in 1988 by former Michael Bolton bassist Bruno Ravel. Enlisting the services of Ted Poley (ex-Prophet vocalist), Steve West (drums), Kasey Smith (keyboards) and Tony Rey (guitar), the band's style lay somewhere between White Lion and Bon Jovi. They were picked up by Imagine Records and debuted with a self-titled album in 1989. Produced by Lance Quinn and Mike Stone, this was an impressive collection of infectious rockers and dynamic power-ballads. Rey left to concentrate on his other project, Saraya, in 1989, and was replaced by Andy Timmons. Signing to Epic Records, they released Screw It! in 1992, which built on the solid foundations of their debut, but included a greater element of arrogant street attitude. It signalled considerable crossover potential that, with careful nurturing, might have produced a major songwriting force (despite song titles such as "Slipped Her The Big One"). However, following touring with Kiss, the band split up, leaving Poley to form his own solo venture, Ted Poley's Bone Machine. Simmons also embarked on a solo career.
