1 September 1955, Woking, Surrey, England. Following the break-up of the Jam in 1982, guitarist Foxton set out on a predictably difficult solo career. During the summer of 1983, he enjoyed UK Top 30 success with Freak. His strong, straightforward pop, with often distinct Jam overtones, was generally well produced, with This Is The Way proving particularly effective. In 1984, Foxton released Touch Sensitive, which featured all-original compositions and another solid production. While deserving of chart success, Foxtons work was, not surprisingly, compared unfavourably with that of the Jam and consequently, his solo career failed to ignite. He subsequently recorded with Stiff Little Fingers and worked as an estate agent. In 2006 he was back with Rick Buckler performing under the banner, From The Jam.
