3T Biography

Comprising three brothers - Taj (Tariano Adaryll Jackson II, 4 August 1973), Taryll Adren Jackson (b. 8 August 1975), and TJ (b. Tito Joe Jackson, 16 July 1978) - 3T are the latest additions to the extraordinary Jackson family (Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Jackson Five, etc.). They are sons of original Jackson Five member Tito Jackson, who co-manages their career. The connections were heavily promoted - their aunt Janet was seen wearing their merchandise throughout 1995. They are also signed to Michael Jackson's own label, MJJ, a joint venture with Sony Records. He produced several tracks on their debut album, Brotherhood, and sung on one of its tracks, "Why", written by Babyface. This was the second single to be taken from the album after the US Top 20 hit, "Anything". Both were typical of the smooth R&B pop of the album, which became a success in both the UK and the USA. The trio had actually made its debut in 1993 with the inclusion of a track, "Didn't Mean To Hurt You", on the Free Willy soundtrack album. The trio returned in 1997 with another transatlantic smash, "Gotta Be You", although loyal fans were disappointed by the non-appearance of the group's second album. In 2000 the brothers launched their own TTT Music label. A new 3T album, Identity, was finally released in Europe at the start of 2005.
